I have the best Nana in the entire world. I miss her and wish I could be celebrating with her today. I LOVE YOU NANA!

The Snowman

Posted by Megan Moulos in ,

Looking out our window.

Monster puppy.

It was at least 4 or 5 inches deep in the park.

Pretty trees.

Greg looking a bit crazed.

The snowman takes shape.

Twig hair. There was a big group of Asians in an epic snowball fight behind Greg.

Penny eyes complete the look. We walked away to check out some pups for a minute, and when we came back a girl was fixing the snowman and taking pictures with it. People were stopping and pointing at him. Our little man is famous!

I'm so glad they brought back the cookies with the pictures in them. I was so upset at Christmas when there were NO santas or x-mas trees! But I will say I remember them being more delicious. Oh well. I ate almost the whole batch anyway...Chuuubbeeeeeteee!

The things people say...

I hear some pretty awesome stuff sometimes in this city:

Waiting for the subway at 14th St...
Homeless guy, coming really close to us, screaming: I AM Richard Nixon! Nixon! Nixon! It's green to me! MONEY IS GREEN TO ME! Money is green to me! I am the Nixon president. Money is green to ME!

At the dog run:
Greek Guy, to dog: C'mon, Roxy! ((Dog lies down to get pet on belly)) Oh don't start with that Mahatma Ghandi stuff!

Eating at the Corner Bistro:
Young guy to other dudes: I mean, she had an Adam's apple bigger than my balls. Seriously. She was a he. Man.

Foob's Friend: There is nothing to do in New York. Except shop. What do you guys do, like shop all the time?

In Chinatown:
Shady black guy: Movado watch. Want a Movado watch? It's stolen.

And finally, Greg is always a winner:

Greg, looking at passing Chihuahua: How do they make dogs that small?
Me: Generations of breeding small dogs with other tiny dogs to make even smaller dogs and so on. Selected breeding of traits.
Greg, skeptical: I don't think so. I think they breed with something else.
Me: Like a...
Greg: Like a lizard.

Chuck Norris

Posted by Megan Moulos in

I just purchased the best novel ever written for a meager $10.
It is non-fiction.
Some of it's truths:

*Every piece of furniture in Chuck Norris's house is a Total Gym.
*Chuck Norris only allows Jackie Chan to live because he likes Chris Tucker movies.
*Chuck Norris once put on a pair of roller skates and showed up at a quarry looking for a job. He is now the most powerful dump truck known to man.
*Chuck Norris's calendar goes straight from March 31st to April 2nd; no one fools Chuck Norris.
*Chuck Norris once killed a man by simply showing him how to love.

Little Rose Petal

Look who came through our window last night! A tiny, chubeete little chick, looking for a warm home!

Okay okay, so I made this tiny bird last night. I was going to try to sell her but I think I'll keep my first one :) It only took a couple hours to put the whole thing together. I can't wait to make a whole multi-colored flock!

Pattern from Bittersweet.

Hedgehogs are funny.

Miss Violet Hapsburg Neckwarmer

It took about 3 days to make. I had to pull it apart a few times because the pea-pod pattern was difficult. I know I'm frowning in the picture, but I really like it! Thanks for the buttons Nana!

The color in this shot is bad, but you can see the little design a bit clearer.

This is what my Empire Shirt looked like last night. I've finished the bottom and sewed in all the edges since then.

Snow Day!!!

Posted by Megan Moulos in , , ,

It actually snowed today. The forecast said freezing sleet and rain, but luckily the weathermen here are NEVER right. There were little flurries mixed with actual snowing. It made a nice, soft powder on the ground, at least 2 inches thick. I was afraid that my camera was getting wet so I couldn't take many pictures.

The park.

These aren't actually mounds of snow, but mounds of asphalt under snow... :(

Cornelia St. right near our house.

Greg is such a little devil child. He hit me with 2 snowballs on my back before I noticed.

Cute little finches. I can't believe how well these pictures came out.

I don't know how these little guys don't freeze to death.
